Daily Kos: Republican mayor of San Diego supports gay marriage

I think this might be the first election video that made me cry (I am made of stone, I know). This is so beautiful, wonderful and fantastic. Many terrible, discouraging things have happened over the course of this election season, but there have also been a staggering number of truly beautiful, courageous, just statements and moves made by people that suggest American and politicians can be more than just a member of a party, but people who are truly invested in the good of the country and the rights of all people. I love this.
