tedr:

I got hella respect for Banksy and his message and purpose of rerouting around dead nodes, but I bet he could get civic approval pretty fast in some cities these days.
I was actually at a fund raiser for these new Mona Caron murals in SF (organized by Tenderloin residents what up Eric & Nikki, whoop whoop!) and whereas a Banksy piece lifespan on the street is often measured in days, murals like Mona’s have the chance to be appreciated by multiple generations. Her football-length mural on Duboce has been up for 10+ yrs already.

RS: Other than funding (Kickstarter), what else can we be doing with the web to make more bottoms-up civic projects like this happen?
